Swedish Massage is the most common massage
preformed on a daily basis. There are five basic movements to this
massage.
-
Effleurage is firm but gentle pressure, gliding
strokes to cleanse the toxins from your body and improve
circulation.
-
Kneading of the muscles is used to also release
toxins by lifting, separating, and rolling your muscles.
-
Friction is used in the needed areas of the
body to release muscle adhesions, which restrict muscle and joint
movement.
-
Hacking is tapping the muscles with a
percussion stroke. This is used to relieve tension and cramping of
the muscles. It is also
used to invigorate your nervous system at the end of the massage.
-
Vibration and stretch. is used throughout the
massage, usually at the end of each body part. This relaxes you
further and replenishes the synovial fluid that cushions your
joints.
Swedish Massage is tailored to each individuals
needs. If something from
above doesn't agree with you, I can find another technique that will
bring the same effect.
Throughout a Swedish massage my goal for you is to ease your muscle
aches, improve your circulation, release your tension and create
relaxation.
